"A greedy explorer on his journey to create a golden statue of himself,
greater than the worlds seven wonders"
Scavenger was a one month project at Digital Bros Game Academy.
Our goal was to build a 2.5D game with spline animations around the “8th World Wonder” theme.

MY ROLE

For this project I worked as a game designer.

My main tasks:
        - Initial game concept.
        - Developing a coherent narrative base from which to start the environmental and                character design.
        - Writing the Introductory monologue.
        - Designing some feedback loops and ways to guide the character through the game.
        - Collecting and processing testing experiences from players.

THE CHALLENGE

As soon as we started we needed to create a basic structure for the development process and iterations, and define development priorities.
Our design team also had to deal with creating consistency and a clear and understandable game progression system.
Collaboration in development between all of the departments in this project was one of the major challenges.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

The game is at an almost beta version in my opinion, due to lack of intuitiveness and visibility for some gameplay elements.
For example there is no aim crosshair as the programming team didn’t have enough time to implement it.
There are some assets, such as doors on the sides which are not visible enough, leading at some points to the player not knowing where to go.
Some other assets are missing, like the holes on the ground which are pitch black, and the VFX are minimal or not present at all in the whole game and this is a major issue of immersivity for the whole experience.
There are also some gameplay bugs and lesser tweaks.
